SEKO

Data Security

In order to guarantee the security and redundancy of our data, SEKO implemented various procedures and processes in order to insure our comprehensive business continuity plan. We have developed a disaster recovery plan for IT and SEKO is now working on the operational elements of the company, which will give us complete business continuity.

In the event that a SEKO office becomes incapacitated, there are more than 100 offices around the world that would be notified and able to take immediate action in order to keep the supply chain moving. Using our web-based applications, service and programs are accessible from any Internet connection in the world. In addition, all data is primarily stored at our corporate office located in Itasca, IL, USA.

Some elements of the Disaster Recovery plan for the Corporate IT department are Web-based. We utilize Level 3 as a co-location facility for our critical servers and networking infrastructure, located near our corporate headquarters outside of Chicago, USA. The racks are physically secured, and the facility is locked and safeguarded.

We also have a plan to maintain an alternate site for data due for completion in 2007.

Our database server is backed up every two hours, then saved each night to a disc and transmitted over encrypted lines to our vendor, Arsenal, located in Miami, FL, USA at the NAP of the Americas. The state-of-the-art Network Access Point (NAP) facility is maintained in a hurricane-proof building where many government entities and Fortune 500 companies back up their critical data. The NAP of the Americas is the fifth Tier-1 NAP in the world and the first such facility designed specifically to provide enhanced connectivity for all of the Americas. The NAP of the Americas provides carrier-neutral connectivity, bilateral and unilateral peering, colocation and a full menu of managed services, routing Internet traffic between the Americas, the Caribbean and Europe.

All systems can be fully operational within 8 hours of disruption or incapacitation of the corporate office, and within minutes for a local office.
